An open letter to my Treadmill

Dear Treadmill,

Thank you. It's been too long since I walked, hiked, jogged and sprinted on your smooth track. Lately I've been feeling worn out, sad, stressed and blah in general. Leaving the daily sun of Vegas for the (almost) daily rain of St. Joe hasn't helped much either.

I almost forgot what makes me feel better! It's not clothes or chocolate or wine... It's definitely you, Treadmill. I joined a gym last week and finally made it there today. I haven't felt this good in a long time. I'm sore and tired, but I've earned it. Plus, I had extra energy to finish laundry, cook dinner, pack up for tomorrow and blog! Compare that to a normal evening of laying on the couch until I fall asleep and I'm super psyched.

So, thanks again, Treadmill. I missed you and I promise I'll keep coming back. I'd be an idiot not to.

Love, Megan

  4. Thanks, Bethany! I'm planning on it...

Isn't it weird how we do that to ourselves? :)

  5. I know exactly what you're talking about. When I get on a treadmill or the track for that matter and I run, I reach a state of Zen. I had a health class in college that says the same chemicals in cocaine get released in your system when your body does physical activity, making you feel better. It really does show.

Just out of curiosity Meg, what treadmill is at the gym? I used to sell treadmills, I kind of have an obsession.

It recall me the letter treadmill wrote to me, would you please get off me at 7AM, stop tread me, never ever. I was shocked, and it turned out my husband made it up as he was sleeping while I was working out on treadmill.
